Introduction

The SNU invites you to do research experiments together with us. There are lots of questions that need to be answered in the realm of Consciousness, PSI phenomena (including mediumship) and the strangeness of reality, and much of the research requires many experimental sessions to be able to give clear answers.

This little booklet contains guidance for doing Spiritual research in the Churches/Centres, Districts, existing circles, and groups or in new groups formed for the purpose. We have chosen 3 experiments that are easy to do and can be done at very low cost:

·      Power of Intention

·      Healing in Water

·      Conditioning a Room

The description of each research experiment here contains all the necessary information to be able to carry out the experiment in a uniform way so results can be compared, and it also describes how to register the results and how to report the results to SNU. The reported results will be aggregated and made public on the SNU website.

You are invited to join in the effort yourselves with one, two or all three experiments in this booklet - more details on the research and how to join is described in the next section.

All the research in this booklet is exploratory i.e. it is to investigate an issue that is perhaps not clearly defined, has been under-investigated, or is otherwise poorly understood.

This is the first version of the booklet; we expect new versions with additional experiments to be produced in the future.

Enjoy!

- The SNU Science Work Party

Research Plan

The research is a cooperation between the experimenters and the SNU Science Working Party. The experiments are to be done within a given timeframe and the results sent to the SNU Science Working Party for further processing and to be published on the SNU website.

The timeframe for the experiments in this booklet is from March 15th, 2024, until August 1st, 2024, any results received after August 15th will not be included in the overall result.

Registration

Each research group will have to register with SNU to participate, using the registration form below. Some of the experiments may require additional registration for the participants.

For additional information and support please email [email protected]

Funding

SNU will be funding the processing of the results and the publication of the results, the costs of the experiments shall be funded by the participants.

Experiment 1- Power of Intention

The Question

Can ‘ordinary’ people’s intention make a difference on the outcome of physical processes – e.g. decay of food?

Experiment Description

In this experiment the target food is set up in 3 samples, one is the reference, which is left untreated, the second is sent negative intentions and the third is sent love and care daily over a period of 2 weeks. The samples must be treated in an identical physical environment. The state of each sample is to be reported after the first week and after the second week. The experiment can be done with the test persons physically joined and sending intentions together or with the test persons sending intentions individually.

Requirements

Requires only some rice and jars.

Can be done individually or in groups (or both to see any difference)

Requires 2 weeks of effort.

Cost is very low.

Procedure

1.  Get people to sign up for the experiment, any number will do.

2.  Acquire small glass jars with airtight lids and rice.

3.  Before the experiment begins preparing the targets: cook the rice as for a meal and let cool down. Put equal amount of rice in each clean glass jar and put the lid on immediately.

4. Label each sample with ‘negative’, ‘positive’, and ‘none’.

5. Place the jars close to each other, so they have the same environmental conditions. During the experiment – do not touch or move the rice jars.

6. Do the following every day for two weeks:

a.     Have the test persons to send negative intentions to the ‘negative’ jar for 10 minutes.

b.     Have the test persons meditate for 10 minutes on a neutral topic.

c.     Have the test persons to send positive intentions to the ‘positive’ jar for 10 minutes.

7. Report the status of the samples after 7 days and after 14 days:

a.     Grade the status of each jar as described in the report form.

b.     Take photo of the jars together

c.     Fill out report form and send to SNU.

If you are doing more than one experiment, then please report the results separately for each experiment.

Experiment 2 - Healing in Water

The Question

Can water be treated with healing, and will that affect plants when they are watered with the treated water, and in this way have we transferred the healing to the plant?

Experiment Description

In this research pure water is used to fill glass bottles and treated with healing by experienced healers and/or by ‘ordinary persons’. Plant seeds are split into a control group watered with tap water and a group watered with the treated water. Allow 2 weeks for the seeds to grow and see if there are any differences in growth and health.

Requirements

·      Requires 3 experienced healers and/or 3 ‘ordinary’ persons.

·      Requires water, five 1-liter glass bottles with caps, 6 small pots, potting soil, and cress seeds.

Procedure

1.     Get people to sign up for the experiment, 3 healers or 3 ‘ordinary’ persons.

2.     Acquire the small pots, potting soil, and seeds.

3.     Before the experiment begins, prepare the targets:

a.     Fill the pots with the potting soil.

b.     Put 25 seeds in each pot.

c.     Label 3 pots ‘Control’ and 3 pots ‘Treated’.

4.     Fill the 5 glass bottles with fresh tap water and put the lids on.

5.     Gather the 3 healers or ‘ordinary’ persons in a circle around the 5 bottles.

6.     Have the persons send healing/healing thoughts to the water bottles meant for plant health and growth for 15 minutes.

7.     Use the water to water the ‘treated’ pots over the rest of the experiment – and use tap water to water the ‘control’ pots.

8.     Register the status of the pots after 1 week and after 2 weeks – take photos if possible.

If you are doing this experiment more than once, then please report the results separately for each experiment.

Experiment 3 - Conditioning a Room

The Question

Is it possible for a group of people to “condition” a room with a feeling and then for other people to sense the feeling afterwards? If so, does the conditioning persist over time?

Experiment Description

Here a group of people, the conditioners, focuses on a feeling in the dedicated room for 30 minutes. Then test persons (mediums, healers, and ‘ordinary’ people) enters the now empty room and tries to sense the room – and write down the feelings. The sensing people must not know what feeling the group focused on.

Requirements

·      Requires a group (ideally 10 or more – please report actual number involved) of people to use their efforts to “condition” the room with a certain feeling or emotion.

·      Requires ideally 2 healers, 2 mediums and 2 ordinary persons (please report the numbers involved) as the sensing test people.

·      Requires a room that can be dedicated for the purpose during the experiment.

Procedure

1. Get people to sign up for the experiment. The sensing test people must fill out a questionnaire (see below) during the experiment, so please have enough copies ready.

2. Plan for the experiment to take place as follows:

a. The room must not have been used for anything for at least 48 hours.

b. Decide on which feeling the group should focus on e.g. love, anger, sadness, joy, fear…

c. Arrange it so the conditioning group does not meet the sensing test people during the experiment.

3. Gather the conditioning group in the room and enable them to agree on which feeling they must concentrate on to condition the room.

4. The group should talk about the feeling among themselves and try to dive into the feeling as much as possible. Work for 30 minutes.

5. The group must leave the room and go to another place where they can have a meditation / relaxation and perhaps a cup of coffee or tea.

6. 10 minutes after the group has left the room the sensing test people enter the room for the first time. They must sense what feelings they get when in the room and make notes. They are not allowed to talk or communicate while the sensing takes place. Each sensing person makes their own notes on what feelings they sense in the room.

7. The notes are collected, and the sensing test people are not allowed to discuss what they have felt.

8. 24 hours later, if possible, the sensing test people enter the room and senses any feelings in the room again as in (6). The important thing here is whether they still can sense the feeling, and if so at what intensity compared to the first time. Fill in second set of questionnaires.

9. Collect the questionnaires from the sensing test people and send to SNU.

If you are doing more than one experiment, then please report the results separately for each experiment.
